Dan MacKenzie has served in the Newfoundland and Labrador government for the last 20 years in progressively responsible policy roles. Since 2021, he has served as Deputy Clerk of the Executive Council and Associate Secretary to Cabinet. Prior to this, he worked with the Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat as both Director of Intergovernmental Policy and Assistant Deputy Minister. He has also served in senior policy positions in the former Department of Environment and Conservation, the Labour Relations Agency and Cabinet Secretariat.
Mr. MacKenzie has a Bachelor of Arts (History) from McGill University, and a Master of Arts (History) from Memorial University. Dan was born, raised and educated in Montreal, and has since proudly put down roots in Newfoundland and Labrador. He is an avid hiker of the East Coast Trail, a successful half-marathon runner, and a devoted father to an exceptional teenage son.
