Édith Laperle is a staff advisor at the Montreal office of the Canadian Union of Public Employees. Originally from Rouyn-Noranda, she holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial relations and has more than 18 years’ experience on the job, during which time she has developed strong negotiating skills. She has represented workers in urban transit, municipal services, communications and health and social services as well as others at the Port of Montreal and at state-owned enterprises. In the last three provincial elections, she was a candidate for Québec solidaire. Édith has been involved in the school environment for the last eight years and currently chairs the governing board of École Père-Marquette in Montréal for the 2019-2020 school year.
