Chris is the President of Longshoremen’s Protective Union (I.L.A.) Local 1953, he has been interested in the labour movement since a young boy. He became President of the local Dockers union in 2017 after working on the docks in St. John’s as a HD Crane. Chris volunteers his time with Iron and Earth East which advocates for a just transition to renewable energy for energy workers. He also sat on the Douglas-Caldwell foundation as a regional rep for Newfoundland & Labrador. He has moved back to be closer to his elderly grandfather and kids who lives in Cape Breton. He enjoys fishing, hockey, Newfoundland Irish history, Labour history, French and Gaelic languages, boxing, exploring different cultures and sociology-economic issues in workers’ lives.
