Deborah holds a Hons. BA, M.Ed., OCT and is a principal with the Toronto District School Board, where she serves in a large dual-track K-8 elementary school. Previously, Deborah was a vice principal in the TDSB’s first-ever and largest fully virtual elementary school created in response to supporting continuity of learning for thousands of students during the pandemic. She has held vice-principal roles in K-6 and middle school. Fluently trilingual, she has taught from K-adult levels in Canada and abroad, worked as a system instructional leader in French as a second language programming, also as a system K-12 learning coach supporting several schools with instructional approaches centered in equity, achievement, and student well-being. Deborah is an active volunteer with Literal Change, supporting literacy education for vulnerable and marginalized youth. She resides in Toronto with her husband and two teenaged sons.
