Mary lives in Oshawa, Ontario and is a passionate advocate for publicly funded education. She is the President of the Durham Teacher Local of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario, also active on their provincial executive board. Dedicated to her community, Mary served as a vice-president of the Durham YWCA, and member of the Oshawa Public Libraries Board. Currently vice-president of the Durham Region Labour Council, Mary advocates for workers’ rights in the region and across the country. Mary holds bachelor’s degree from the University of Waterloo and the University of Ottawa and a French certificate from Université Sainte-Anne.
