The Rideau Hall Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of Monique F. Leroux as Chair of the 2026 Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference, continuing a legacy of excellence in Canadian leadership development.

Monique F. Leroux is an accomplished business leader, corporate director, and passionate advocate for the development of future talent, businesses, and communities. As former Chair of the Board and CEO of Desjardins Group, she brings a wealth of experience in governance, innovation, and social responsibility to the role. Her appointment underscores the Conference’s commitment to nurturing leadership that reflects Canada’s values of inclusion, collaboration, and civic engagement.

Established in 1983 and now operated by the Rideau Hall Foundation, the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference is the country’s most prestigious leadership development program. It brings together emerging leaders from across Canada, representing business, labour, government, Indigenous organizations, and the non-profit sector, for a two-week intensive learning and dialogue aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of Canadian society.

The 2026 Conference will build on this legacy by exploring the evolving challenges and opportunities facing Canada in a time of rapid change.
