Twyla Harris Naciri is a Métis woman born and raised on a mixed cattle and grain farm near Briarlea, Saskatchewan. She grew up showing purebred cattle and spent 13 years in 4-H, later serving as a leader. Twyla joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2008 with the Cadet Instructors Cadre and retired as a Captain, including serving as Commanding Officer of 328 Royal Canadian Army Cadets. A passionate advocate for organ and tissue donation, women’s political engagement, and workers’ rights, Twyla is a proud member of COPE Local 397 and union activist and community leader. She lives in Warman with her family.
