Curious by nature and passionate about learning, Tamara Phillips (she/her) is an Education Officer with the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) Equity team, bringing experience from the Halton District School Board, where she served as an Instructional Program Lead in Secondary School Programs and on the Indigenous Rights and Education Team. She focuses on literacy, asset-based assessment, and culturally and historically responsive teaching, committed to uplifting students who have been historically underserved, amplifying their voices, and fostering meaningful engagement. A recipient of the District 20 OSSTF Inclusive Educator and Mentorship Awards, Tamara contributes to ONLit, co-chairs the English Language Arts Network, and loves reading, exploring the outdoors, supporting youth hockey, and deepening her Tamil heritage through Bharatanatyam.
