From Three Mile Plains Nova Scotia, Shawn Johnson works in the labour sector for the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union. Prior to becoming a Labour Relations Officer, he worked in the education sector for 14 years with an emphasis on supporting students of African Descent. He was an active member and Vice President of his local which motivated him to be a leader. Shawn has provided presentations pertaining to discrimination and racism and is a believer in fairness and equality, providing guidance for peers and youth. Shawn has attended NUPGE Leadership Development school and continues to build leadership skills and creative ways of thinking to be a successful leader in the years to come.
