Omer Hussein is President of the Wood Buffalo and District Labour Council and a health care professional based in northern Alberta. In this role, he brings people together across sectors to advance collaboration, advocacy, and responsible leadership. He currently serves as a North District Board Member with the Health Sciences Association of Alberta, contributing to governance, strategic planning, budget oversight, and public accountability within the health system. His work reflects a commitment to democratic institutions, collective decision making, and preparing organizations for change. His leadership has been recognized through Fort McMurray’s 50 Under 50 and the Steward of the Profession Award nationally.
