Executive Officer – HMCS Malahat Royal Canadian Navy
Nathaniel Sukhdeo is a Naval Warfare Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy, a Lawyer, and a graduate of UVic’s JD/JID (Indigenous Legal Orders) program. His professional interests focus on supporting reconciliation through cross-sectoral and economic policy responses, including collaborative approaches to capability development between the Canadian Armed Forces and Indigenous Communities. His personal interests focus on supporting community efforts to rebuild trust in democratic institutions and address increasing socio-economic disparities. He is an Honorary Aide-de-Camp to the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, and a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal and the 2018 Liz Hoffman Memorial Commendation.
