Mihai Voicu is a forest carbon modeller with over 20 years of experience working in Canada’s boreal ecosystems, specializing in biomass, growth and yield, and national GHG reporting. His work bridges science, policy, and operations by integrating field data, modeling, and IPCC-aligned reporting to support climate and land-use decision-making. He has led multi-agency collaborations, secured research funding, and contributed to national-level climate adaptation planning. Alongside his technical career, Mihai brings extensive leadership experience through union representation and community service, including long-term volunteer soccer coaching and refereeing, reflecting his commitment to mentorship, collaboration, and public service.
