Lieutenant-Colonel Melanie Arsenault is a Canadian Armed Forces Construction Engineering Officer and licensed Professional Engineer with a passion for infrastructure, inclusive design, and organizational improvement. She has served across Canada and overseas, including a deployment to Afghanistan and command of the Canadian Forces Fire and CBRN Academy. Her research on Diversity Barriers in Defence Infrastructure informed the Department’s Standard for Accessible and Inclusive Design. As Commanding Officer of Real Property Operations Unit (West), she oversees infrastructure operations and maintenance across Western Canada. She remains proud of her involvement in the CAF international soccer program. She lives in Cochrane with her husband and two children.
