Dr. Meaghan Thumath is a clinician-scientist and public health leader advancing health equity and resilience during public health emergencies. She serves as Director of Strategy for Vancouver Coastal Health and as an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia School of Nursing. Her research examines how misinformation and structural inequities shape population health and how systems can better respond to pandemics, substance use, and climate-related emergencies. Her work bridges clinical practice, research, and policy, including leadership roles in humanitarian outbreak response with the World Health Organization and the Canadian Red Cross. A Trudeau Scholar and Oxford graduate, she founded Counterforce AI to develop real-time tools to counter health misinformation. She was recently awarded a King Charles III Coronation Medal for her contributions to global health.
