Katie Stark is a pediatric and forensic nurse in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She is the Vice President of the Manitoba Nurses Union. Living in Manitoba, she enjoys the winters, cheering on her Winnipeg Jets, but enjoys getting away with her husband when the deep cold sets in. In the summer, you’ll find her playing softball with friends. Her union work has allowed her to speak up when patients were being turned away from the understaffed Sexual Assault Program. Her efforts, alongside fellow nurses, helped secure vital funding to properly staff the program and establish a community-based care alternative.
