Josh Girard is a professional firefighter with Whitby Fire & Emergency Services whose work spans frontline emergency response, labour leadership, and firefighter wellbeing. He serves as Vice President of the Whitby Professional Fire Fighters’ Association and represents the IAFF 13th District on the Emergency Operations Technology Committee, contributing to discussions on operational effectiveness and emerging technology. Josh is also a peer-selected Peer Support Team Lead, supporting members through critical incidents. A graduate of York University’s Disaster and Emergency Management program, outside the fire service, endurance training informs his approach to discipline, completing numerous Ironman and charity cycling events.
