President, Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Labour
Jessica McCormick is the President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Labour, representing 70,000 workers. She was the youngest and first queer woman elected to the position. Jessica has worked in the labour and social justice movement since 2010. In 2025, she was named one of Memorial University’s Centennial 100 which celebrates 100 alumni, students, faculty, and staff who have made a world of difference in the world. Jessica is interested in the impact of economic transitions, particular in resource extraction industries. She’s also passionate about transforming traditional leadership models to be more reflective of a changing workforce.
