Principal Advisor in Cultural Competence, Rio Tinto

Jennifer is a Mi’kmaq First Nation professional from Gesgapegiag, Quebec, and a Principal Advisor in Cultural Competence at Rio Tinto. An intergenerational 60s Scoop survivor, her leadership is grounded in resilience, cultural reclamation, and intergenerational responsibility. She brings experience working directly with Indigenous communities across Eastern Canada and has supported the urban Indigenous community in Montreal through volunteer leadership and governance roles, while remaining an active member of the community. Jennifer has led national Indigenous awareness and employee engagement initiatives, advised senior leaders on cultural competence and reconciliation priorities, and supported cross-cultural learning strategy development. She also serves on the Global Indigenous Advisory Circle for the One Young World Summit 2026, contributing to global Indigenous leadership dialogue. She is committed to fostering inclusive leadership and reconciliation in action.
