Jennifer Barnes has been part of the public service of Newfoundland and Labrador since 2005, beginning her career as a front-line child protection social worker. She later moved into progressively senior roles in policy and program development, as well as Indigenous relations and intergovernmental affairs. Jennifer now serves as the Assistant Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Memorial University and a Master of Social Work from Dalhousie University. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, reading a good book, and relaxing at her family cabin.
