Owner, Miqsuqta!
Emily Joanasie, is Inuk (Inuit) from Nunavut, who is an entrepreneur, educator and creative maker. Most recently, having owned and operated a small business in Iqaluit for the last seven years; a fabric shop named Miqsuqta! Stemming from a lifelong passion of creativity in garment making and beadwork, she saw an opportunity to supply fellow creatives. She enjoys young learners, having started her career in education as an elementary teacher. She holds a Master’s of Education from University of Prince Edward Island, a Bachelor of Education from University of Regina, and Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous Studies from Trent University.
