Matt is President of the Alberta Fire Fighters Association and is a Lieutenant with the Calgary Fire Department. Matt started in the fire service in 2001 and has been an active Labour leader. He was first elected in 2012 to the Calgary Firefighters IAFF Local 255 Executive Board where he gained experience in different roles and portfolios, including Vice President of Government Relations and Spokesperson. He now enjoys using his experience to advocate and connect frontline emergency service work to provincial officials. In the past, Matt was a partner in a rural residential development company, and he worked in a variety of instructing and coaching roles in the snowboard industry. Matt is married with two daughters and enjoys being active in the mountains, sports, politics, traveling, and charity work.
